Huygens Capital uses quantitative methods for investment management. Our Navigator managed futures strategy incorporates proprietary insights into behavioral finance. Navigator is a very low frequency trading system that is designed to give clients broad exposure to US equities while cushioning them against downside risk. <br><br> Executive Team <br><br> Walter C. Vester, Chief Executive Officer
Walter's background combines years of fundamental equity investing with hands-on experience in system design for stochastic control. He was most recently a Managing Director in The Blackstone Group's Private Equity division, and was a buy-side equity research analyst at AllianceBernstein before that. Early in his career Walter designed stochastic algorithms for secure communication systems in Harris Corporation's Advanced Communication Systems Group. He has multiple US & UK patents. Walter has a BS in Computer and Systems Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (1991), an MS in Applied Physics and Electrical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University (1993), and an MBA in finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania (2001). <br><br> Adam R. Spilka, Chief Operating Officer<br> Adam has extensive experience in the legal and compliance aspects of the financial services industry, and as an executive with a focus on enterprise risk and corporate governance. He was most recently the General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Artio Global Investors, a publicly-traded asset management firm spun off from Julius Baer Holding. Adam was instrumental in taking the company public, and served on its management committee. Before that he was Senior Vice President and Corporate Secretary of AllianceBernstein, where he headed the corporate practice group and served as Conflicts Officer, a role mandated by the SEC. Prior to that he was Vice President and Counsel at Equitable Life, focusing on '34 Act re-porting and private placements. He began his career as a corporate associate at Debevoise & Plimpton. Adam has a J.D. (cum laude) from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law (1987) and a B.A. in Art History from Columbia College (1982).
