CTA Introduction

Steve Jones, the Investment Manager has been involved in trading financial markets since 1993. He began his trading career at NatWest Markets as a spot foreign exchange trader before moving on to trade fixed income at Greenwich Natwest, BNP Paribas and Spear, Leeds & Kellogg. Following the acquisition of Spear, Leeds & Kellogg, he joined Goldman Sachs in order to bring together the Hull Trading, SLK and Goldman’s high frequency trading businesses. Steve was involved in establishing Goldman’s equity derivatives automated market-making business and developed systematic trading strategies as part of Goldman’s proprietary trading business. In 2004, he left Goldman Sachs to establish JCH Capital Management, a hedge fund focused on systematic trading, where he oversaw positive returns for every one of the years that he was responsible for managing the fund. Following the sale of the firm to the remaining partners, and after completing a non-compete period, he established SMJ Capital Management in order to provide systematic trading strategies to institutional investors.
