CTA Introduction

Ronald Barba was born and raised in Hamden, CT. He graduated from Brown University in 1962, majoring in philosophy. <br> <br> His first position was as a stockbroker with a firm which was later merged into Citicorp. In the early 70’s, he observed the commodity market and saw a great opportunity for growth and financial profit. Mr. Barba became a CTA (Commodity Trading Advisor) and directed 100% of his business into the commodity market. He built a substantial business in commodity trading and started his own firm Futures Investments,Inc. <br> <br> In 2005, after over 30 years of experience in trading the commodity market, Mr. Barba formed The Barbashop LLC (TBL), which became registered as a CTA in June 2005. His objective was to give investors an opportunity to invest in the commodity market as a diversification from the stock market. <br> <br> All decisions are discretionary, and based upon both fundamental and technical analysis. The Barbashop,LLC will primarily trade the most liquid markets, i.e. metals, oils, currencies, bonds, stock indices, etc. Mr. Barba may make short term trades or take long term positions depending on how he analyzes the market. Mr. Barba will primarily buy calls, puts, call spreads and put spreads on futures. He will also buy and sell futures.
